Engagement Sessions FAQs
Is an engagement session for us?
- I'll be 100% honest and say engagement sessions aren't for everyone, that's why I don't include them in my wedding photography package. However, if you are nervous about having your photo taken on your wedding day then I would recommend an engagement session to ease your nerves. If you want photographs at a special location or if you have a pet that can't be at the wedding then it's the perfect way to include these!
They're also a great way to get some amazing photographs for your wedding stationery or to use as a guestbook on your wedding day.
What do we do?!
- I understand that having your photo taken can be quite a daunting experience! But don't panic. Although there will be no cheesy posing, I will give you some prompts and direction. There'll be quite a bit of walking about, maybe stopping for a coffee, exploring the location you've chosen & chatting about the wedding.

How much are engagement sessions?
- £300 which is paid around 2 weeks before your session date. I will email you an invoice.
How long do they last?
- Approximately around 1-2 hours
How many images will we receive?
- around 40+ images delivered digitally via online gallery. Prints can be purchased separately via the online gallery.
Where will the photos take place?
- This is completely up to you both! It can be somewhere sentimental to you both (where you got engaged, first date, etc.) but we can talk about it together if you are unsure. Please note travel fees may be additional. Previous locations for inspiration have been Whitby, The Peak District, Leeds city centre & Formby Beach. I would love to photograph some Manchester city centre sessions as I have my eye on some cool locations!
Can we bring pets?
- Yes! And please do!
What if we have to rearrange/bad weather?
- If it is raining lightly, I will bring a brolly with me and we will crack on! Or try to find an indoor location and come up with a plan B. If the weather is really bad and I deem it unsuitable conditions, I will try to rearrange another date with you. However, I will always try to come up with a plan B first.
If you have to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances (illness etc.) then again, we will rearrange another date.
What should we wear?
- Just be yourselves and be comfortable! Please wear suitable shoes and pack a brolly/coat just in case. Avoid clashing patterns or colours and items of clothing without logos as they can be distracting.
We’re not engaged, can we still book a session?
- Yes of course! Anyone can book a session.
When are you available for engagement sessions?
- Unfortunately I am not available for engagement sessions on weekends during peak wedding season (typically April-October) You can request my availability by using the contact form below.
