Sarah & Luke’s wedding at East Riddlesden Hall, keighley

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Sarah & Luke's wedding at the beautiful East Riddlesden Hall which is a favourite venue of mine.
You may recognise this pair from the photographs in Whitby I took earlier this year and their wedding was just as wonderful! The barn at East Riddlesden was full of beautiful flowers from The Crafty Petals Company which complimented the fantastical woodland theme of Sarah & Luke's wedding perfectly.
I am a big geek myself so I was completely in my element running around photographing all the beautiful details Sarah & Luke handmade pretending I was some kind of woodland Hobbit!
I absolutely loved these incredible mushroom lights & the pyrography ring box Luke made. They are honestly such a talented pair!
Bonus points if you can spot me in one of these photos! Thank you Sarah & Luke for having me as part of your special day.

A few words from Sarah & Luke about their wedding:

How did you two meet?: We Meet at Salford University, on the foundation Art and design course and continued together onto the illustration course for another 3 years.

Describe the proposal!: He proposed in Whitby! We set off out on the day to explore the town. He tried desperately to get to the beach, but the tides were against us, we wandered around all day and his backpack kept on making a glass on glass clinking sound and when I asked him what it was he just kept on saying it as a present for me. Eventually, the sun started to set and he started to look nervous. We found a small section of beach and he told me it was time for my present and so he told me to close my eyes, I could hear him with the clinking glasses growing in frustration, so I asked if I could help. Opening my eyes I saw that he was furiously attempting to light candles on jars. After helping him, I was instructed to close my eyes again and I heard him run off behind me and return. After I was told that I could open my eyes he told me, in a fake surprised voice, that there was something the rocks behind me and that I need to inspect what it was. Following his instructions I found a fairy door embedded in the rocks on the beach, opening it I found a hand decorated box. I returned with it and inside I found my ring and a nervous Luke, speech in hand. He proposed to me on a tiny beach in Whitby as dusk was setting in and the light disappeared. It was funny and awkward and perfect.

What is special about your venue?: We love the National Trust and really like the venue , we have visited East Riddlesden Hall a few times over the years and it that rustic style that we both love.

Any details of note about your big day?: We are really going for a rustic handmade style, with a touch of magic and a sprinkling of Norse mythology. We have handmade nearly all of our decorations, and make a special note to mention our mushroom light table centres.”
