Leeds Town Hall Wedding

Becky & James’ elopement in Leeds

I had a great time photographing Becky & James’ small wedding at Leeds Town Hall last week. Another wonderful micro-wedding that just goes to show that smaller weddings are beautiful!

Becky & James both stayed at the Quebec Hotel in the centre of Leeds which is a beautiful hotel with plenty of gorgeous features and light for getting ready photos!
I would still recommend including getting ready photos as a part of your wedding day, even if you are opting for a smaller wedding. It’s a great chance for me to photograph some natural candid moments of you and your closest family, special details like your dress/suit, shoes, keepsakes and also for some beautiful bridal portraits like the ones I took of Becky on this amazing balcony at the Quebec. It really adds to the storytelling of the day when you look back through your wedding gallery.

I absolutely loved that Becky & James decided to do a ‘first look’ before heading to their wedding ceremony together. For those who don’t know, a first look is where the couple decide to meet before the wedding ceremony to see each other in their wedding gear for the first time. Although I do love the moment where couples see each other for the first time at the aisle, there is just something so emotional and special about a first look! I think it’s a much more intimate experience and I would really recommend it - especially for couples who are nervous about the ceremony itself (seeing each other beforehand can relieve some of the pressure) or would rather keep that moment to themselves.
I love these photos of Becky & James seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day so so much, and I’ll be honest, I was definitely crying behind my mask!

The wedding ceremony at Leeds Town Hall was short and sweet. Straight after, I photographed Becky & James’ family outside Leeds Town Hall before just the three of us headed off for a stroll around the city. I love photographing city weddings so much. I was explaining to Becky & James, there are so many options for creative wedding photos in a city centre. Wandering around and finding locations together definitely helps to make the wedding portraits feel more relaxed and fun.

Thanks so much again for having me Becky & James, your wedding was truly such a wonderful day to be a part of and has made me so excited to photograph more smaller weddings! See you at the bigger bash next year!

Becky’s accessories and dried flowers were from Etsy
James’ suit is from Samuel Slaters

Thank you to the Quebec Hotel for having us!
