About Me

Hi! That's me (below not above). Call me Maddie, I'm your typical 20-something millennial who loves memes & hanging out with my cat Lilly. I also happen to have a pretty amazing job where I get to photograph awesome couples and their wedding days!

I'm a bit of a geek but that just means I'm really passionate about lots of cool stuff including my job. If I could live anywhere it would be The Shire (seeing as I am pretty much a Hobbit) and I have a huge love for Studio Ghibli films, (much to my parent’s disappointment I have a tattoo of Haku from Spirited Away on my arm). My weaknesses are gin, burritos and buying any form of Pusheen merchandise.
On the rare weekends when I'm not photographing, you can probably find me playing D&D with my pals, eating & watching netflix, or playing on the Nintendo Switch!

I currently live just outside of Manchester city centre with my boyfriend Jonathan and our ever growing collection of house plants & board-games. Manchester is one of my favourite cities (and somewhere where I spend far too much money eating…) I love to travel when I get chance and have so far visited West Coast America, Australia & the next plan is Japan which is my ultimate dream!

My Approach

Although on your wedding day my goal is to always blend-in, there is no denying that we will spend quite a lot of time together. That's why I think it's super important that we click and that you both feel comfortable with me! It's great if we can meet in person before your wedding day to chat about your wedding plans (or you can just show me photos of your pets) that way, we won't feel like strangers on the day.

My approach is natural, authentic & unobtrusive. I make sure to capture all those important moments unnoticeably, leaving you to make the most of your wedding day. I spend the majority of the day photographing events naturally as they unfold - I want to capture the story of your wedding day realistically & honestly so that when you dust off your photobook 25 years later, it'll feel like you're right back there!

I like to keep group photos quick paced and fun so your guests don't feel like they are stood around for hours on end, and I'll let you guys eat, have a drink and say hello to everyone before we have a quick breather for some relaxed portraits. In-between all this, I'll be spending my time capturing lots of candids of you and your guests and all the amazing wedding details you've worked so hard on!

Where did it begin?

My photography journey started way back in 2009 when I started experimenting with fashion photography as part of my A-Levels. I then took a degree in Photography at The University of Huddersfield where I was adamant I wanted to be a fashion photographer! There I learnt loads of boring but useful technical stuff about cameras and lighting which I used when I graduated and became a freelance commercial photographer & retoucher (working mainly on clothing websites). I soon realised that commercial photography wasn't very creative at all and set up my own wedding photography business solo. Fast forward to 2020 and my little business has been thriving for over four years!
