Pennine Manor Wedding
Jess & Luke's countryside wedding in Huddersfield
I absolutely loved photographing Jessica & Luke's wedding at Pennine Manor near Huddersfield.
These two are honestly the sweetest pair and it’s been a pleasure getting to know them both during their wedding journey! Jess & Luke booked an engagement session with me earlier in the year on the moors near Blackstone Edge.
Their wedding venue Pennine Manor is also situated on the moors so it was great to be able to use a similar stunning backdrop for their wedding photos!
Jess’ Mum's 1972 vintage land drover made several appearances during the photos which was a lovely tribute to her. As you can see, the bridesmaids got stuck in too! I know Jess (and Luke, but let’s be honest mainly Jess ) put so much work and planning into making their reception look amazing and she did a fantastic job with the help of Pink Ginger flowers and the staff at Pennine Manor.
Pennine Manor is surrounded by stunning scenery and moorland and I would recommend it to any couples who love the great outdoors and are looking for a wedding venue in West Yorkshire.

A few words from Jess & Luke:
How did you two meet?: We both met through a friend who is actually Luke's best man on the day!
Describe the proposal!: We were out on a walk on a drizzly day with our dog Bonnie and Jess' dad's dogs Bill and Ben, near to where we live. Jessica didn't want to go out on the walk but i convinced her anyway. We did out local farm loop route and stopped at a sitting point over looking the valley. There I asked her and she said yes! As she replied in shock, all the dogs ran off and I had to chase them. She was ecstatic, this is now on the day prior to my birthday our anniversary.
What is special about your venue?: We liked the setting of Pennine Manor, it's on top of a big hill with great views - the same things we looked for when buying our first house
Any details of note about your big day?: We made the sloe gin wedding favours. In September last year we both went with Jess' brother to a place in Dewsbury where he saw the bushes loaded with sloe berries. Jack and Luke spent about 5 hours getting scratched and managed to pick 8kg worth of the berries. Jess mainly watched and gave words of encouragement. This has now been brewing for 10 months. We bought a whiskey barrel for the cake to sit on. Jess' bridesmaid Zoe did all of the wedding stationary.
The groom will be arriving to the wedding in Jess' late mother's 1972 landrover, a sort of family heirloom. Jess' brother Jack cut the log slices for the centre pieces, and other bits have been made by Jess such as the seating plan and the jam jars.
