Another beautiful day at Styal Lodge. I’m looking forward to being here again plenty in 2022 & 2023!
Abbie & Reece were the sweetest couple and it was a joy to photograph their day!
The two decided to head to the lake after their ceremony to have a quiet moment and read their handwritten vows to each other which was such a magical part of the day to photograph. I love it when couples incorporate personal touches to their day.
How did you two meet?: Written by Reece:
We met when Abbie was working behind the bar of a café on Lark Lane, Liverpool. I use to come in for food in the day and drinks in the evening quite regularly. The reason for the frequent visits was that I really wanted to see Abbie. Any time me and my friends would talk about going out for a drink or a hang out I would suggest the bar/café where Abbie worked just so I could see her. I use to go up to the bar to buy the rounds just so I could talk to her. I eventually plucked up the courage to ask her out, to which she said no hahaha. But I asked again and she agreed to go for a coffee :) I've been deeply in love with her ever since.
Describe the proposal!: Written by Abbie:
We play a card game where we give each other playing cards with different challenges written on them and I gave Reece a card that said "plan an adventure weekend". Reece planned for us to climb Snowdon, which is also what we did for our first official date as an official couple. So he packed a lunch, all the necessary supplies and we drove down to Snowdonia. After dragging me up the mountain and motivating me to keep going we got to the top amidst a mini storm. We found shelter behind the cafe at the summit and set the camera up to take pictures but Reece had set it to video mode and as I looked at him he got down on one knee and proposed. Wind swept, cold and now crying I screamed yes :) We then went to Alton Towers the day after to finish the adventure weekend off.
What is special about your venue?: We wanted an outdoorsy, forest style wedding but indoors. The lodge gives off the perfect vibes for what we wanted.
